Replacement Sweet16 image posted

I just replaced the Sweet16 disk image you can download with a new copy that doesn't have the trademark symbol in the disk name. Some folks were copying that over to their Mac as a folder, and the trademark symbol is non-ASCII -- and Sweet16 can't currently handle pathnames with non-ASCII characters in them, so this would break it.

I'll be releasing a minor update in the next few days, I hope. That version probably won't fix the non-ASCII pathname problem yet, but addresses a couple of other minor bugs and has a couple of very minor enhancements. It may also slightly improve performance, although that's not a primary reason for the update.

Some FAQs for Sweet16

I've added a few FAQs for Sweet16 to its web page. Hopefully this will address the problems that most of the email I've gotten so far has been about.

I've already begun work on a new version, which hopefully will go out soon, that will address some key bugs and other issues. It won't have any new features to speak of -- I'll save that for the next version after that.

Sweet16 1.6 for Mac OS X released

Sweet16 for Mac OS X, the new Universal Binary Apple IIgs emulator for the Macintosh, is now available for download. The software was released today at KansasFest, and is freeware!

Sweet16 demo scheduled

The Sweet16 demo and release is scheduled for Wednesday, July 19th, at 4 PM Central Daylight Time, during a presentation at KansasFest. The code is all done for the first version, so we're good to go!

Sweet16 for Mac OS X coming this month

My now approved port of Sweet16 from BeOS to Mac OS X will be released at KansasFest next week, in Kansas City, Missouri. There will be a demonstration of the software there, followed by its immediate public availability.

A web page for the software will be added to this site at that time. The new version is a Universal Binary, running natively on both PowerPC and Intel processors. It requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 on PowerPC or Mac OS X 10.4 on Intel.
